Accessibility
How this site works for people using assistive technology, where it falls short, and how to tell me.
Last updated 4 November 2026
The aim
I want everyone to be able to read about these books, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What the site does
- Pages use real headings, landmarks and labels, and every function works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- A “Skip to content” link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key.
- Text and controls meet AA colour contrast against their backgrounds.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and scroll effects are switched off and all content stays visible.
- Images have text alternatives, and the opening of Excursion Through Time is published as real text, not only as a PDF.
- Text can be zoomed to 200% without loss of content, and the layout adapts to small screens.
Known limitations
- The excerpt PDF is not tagged for screen readers. The opening pages on the home page are the accessible version.
- Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form may occasionally block a message. If that happens, email instead.

How this was checked
This statement was prepared on 4 November 2026 from a self-assessment: automated checks of contrast, headings, motion and layout at desktop, tablet and phone widths, and checks of keyboard focus order through the menus, forms and dialogs.
