Cookie policy
What this site stores in your browser. It is a very short list.
Last updated 4 November 2026
In short
This site sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and most pages store nothing on your device at all. The only storage it uses is strictly necessary for the contact form to work and to protect it from spam.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), strictly necessary storage does not need your consent, which is why you don’t see a cookie banner here.
What is stored, and why
| Name | Set by | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| lastFormSubmission (local storage) | This site, after you send a contact message | Holds the time of your last message so the form can stop accidental repeat submissions within a minute. It contains no personal details. | Until you clear your browser’s site data |
| _GRECAPTCHA (cookie) | Google reCAPTCHA, once you start filling in the contact form | Helps tell people from automated spam so the form stays open to real messages. | 6 months |
Google reCAPTCHA
reCAPTCHA loads only on the contact page and only when you start using the form. When it loads, Google may also read cookies it has already set in your browser, for example if you are signed in to a Google account. Google’s use of this information is covered by its Privacy Policy. More detail is in my privacy policy.
Controlling storage
You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you block reCAPTCHA, the contact form may not be able to send your message; email inquiries@jeromemccavewrites.com instead.
Changes
If I ever add analytics or anything else that needs your consent, I will ask for it first, before anything is stored, and update this page.
