Long biography
Jerome A. McCave was raised and educated in Trinidad and Tobago before moving to the United Kingdom to study for a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with Aeronautics at the University of Glasgow. While completing his studies he began his debut novel, Excursion Through Time, a hard science fiction epic about a man torn from his own era and thrust into a future where perfection is law and justice is predictive.
He writes across genres: science fiction that probes consciousness and humanity’s place in the cosmos; KEON: The Boy With the Black Flame, a Caribbean manga of ancestral power and identity; and short stories that retell Caribbean folklore, from the Soucouyant to Anansi and the Midnight Robber. His influences range from Cixin Liu’s The Three-Body Problem to Ma Rose Point, an anthology of rare legends and folk tales from Trinidad and Tobago.
